Three ascend to Simpson Grierson partnership

Senior lawyers Nicky Hall, Rachael Judge, and Edward Norman have ascended to the partnership at Simpson Grierson.

Auckland-based Hall is an expert in litigation related to the Public Works Act. She brings over 25 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation and specialises in property litigation, rent reviews, and contractual, commercial and trust disputes.

She has also tackled banking, contract, company, and trust litigation. She has been involved in arbitrations and has appeared before the Māori Land Court and the Land Valuation Tribunal.

Also based in Auckland, Judge advises on all aspects of employment and education law, both contentious and non-contentious issues. She has handled personal grievance claims, restructurings, disciplinary and performance management processes, holiday pay compliance, human rights and privacy, collective bargaining, and investigations.

She has represented independent and state schools on terms of enrolment, student disciplinary issues, student human rights claims, school policies, and the Children’s Act 2014. Additionally, she has provided guidance to schools on employment agreements and staff disciplinary matters.

Norman is a seasoned commercial and projects lawyer who specialises in projects in the infrastructure, transport, and energy sectors. He has advised public bodies, banks, institutional investors, sponsors, developers, corporates, and investment funds on project structuring and the commercial, funding, and financing aspects of projects and project finance transactions.

He has also provided guidance on complex commercial contracting and procurement matters; in particular, he concentrates on transactions in the transport sector.

The promotions took effect on 1 January.
