The Texas Supreme Court has temporarily suspended a local justice of the peace based on allegations connected to drugs, sexting, and prostitutes – some of which she reportedly has already admitted to.
The Texas State Commission on Judicial Conduct had sought the immediate suspension of Harris County Justice of the Peace Hilary Green in a 316-page filing that said she admitted to abusing drugs, including marijuana, Ecstasy, and prescription cough syrup.
Green is said to have used her bailiff, who she admitted having sexually explicit communication with, to help her buy the prescription cough syrup.
Doctors have testified that Green is already drug-free, according to the Houston Chronicle. But she presided over misdemeanour drug cases at the time of her alleged drug abuse, the Dallas Morning News said.
A former boyfriend has also accused green of paying prostitutes for sex and getting marijuana from court officers, who had confiscated the drug from a detainee.
Green is a former trial attorney, was first appointed to the bench in 2007. She was subsequently re-elected in 2008, 2012, and 2016.
