Solomons Barristers and Solicitors has appointed a new partner to lead its commercial team, according to the New Zealand Law Society.

Warren Moffat has experience in various facets of property sales, including the commercial, residential, industrial and agricultural aspects. He has also handled matters involving property purchases, developments, leases, structuring, subdivisions and financing.

He has provided tax, asset protection, trust and estate advice to clients.

Prior to joining Solomons in June, Moffat had served several years as a partner at another Dunedin firm, which he had been a part of since 2006.

Outside the office, he is a board director for the Otago Rugby Football Union. He is also a board trustee for the Arai Te Uru Kokiri Charitable Trust, the Pukekura Trust and the Otago Peninsula Trust.

Solomons also welcomed Georgia Stumbles to its roster of senior solicitors.

She focuses on transactional-based work, and is a part of the firm’s commercial team. She has handled matters related to residential and commercial property, business transactions and commercial leasing.

Stumbles has also worked on asset and estate planning issues, such as those associated with trust formations, wills and powers of attorney.

She graduated from the University of Otago with degrees in law and accounting in 2016. She was admitted to the bar in 2017.
