Russell McVeagh recruits litigation senior associate

Russell McVeagh has added a litigation expert in Wellington.

Emma Light has joined the firm as a senior associate. She made the move from Luke Cunningham Clere, where she has been a senior associate since 2012.

At her previous firm, she served as a Crown prosecutor, regularly appearing in the District Court and High Court. She adds to the firm extensive civil litigation experience.

Light is also an expert in environmental law, regulatory enforcement, and local government. She is also experienced in criminal prosecution, Russell McVeagh said.

Malcolm Crotty, chairman, said that Light adds valuable expertise to the firm’s litigation practice.

Light’s appointment comes after the top-tier firm grew its property and construction team with the appointment of a special counsel in March.
