Rice Speir attracts senior associate

Rice Speir has added Simon Waalkens as a senior associate.

The internationally experienced lawyer has extensive experience in insurance, healthcare and criminal law. He moved from Meredith Connell, where he was an associate.

He also previously worked in London as a senior lawyer in a firm that became part of DWF and a secondee legal counsel to Zurich Insurance. In Auckland, he was also previously a senior solicitor at DLA Piper.

The new senior associate has acted for public- and private-sector clients in dispute resolution and court or tribunal processes, the Law Society said.
