Nominations close this week for the 2023 NZ Law Awards

Those who wish to put names forward for the 2023 NZ Law Awards have only until this Friday to make their submissions.

The awards will celebrate the leading achievers and achievements in the New Zealand legal profession across 25 categories. Lawyers, law firms, in-house teams and mediators will see their contributions over the past 12 months recognised.

“We expect to see a diverse collection of nominations representing the best and brightest in the legal industry. We are looking forward to receiving submissions that demonstrate outstanding legal expertise, innovative strategies, exceptional client services, and a commitment in advancing the profession”, said Aya Riola, general manager – NZ at event partner LexisNexis.

Those looking to nominate themselves or their peers for an award can do so online; you can submit nominations for as many of the categories as you like. Excellence Awardees will be unveiled on 31 August.

A panel of independent expert judges will then comb through the outstanding entries of the finalists to determine who comes out on top. A black-tie gala hosted by The Nutters Club’s Mike King will be held at the Cordis Auckland on 23 November to celebrate the winners.

Big winners last year included top firms Russell McVeagh, Bell Gully and Chapman Tripp, as well as the in-house legal stars like the Fonterra Co-operative Group legal team and NewLaw firm Juno Legal.

NZ Lawyer would like to extend special thanks to event partner LexisNexis, as well as to event sponsors Resolution Institute, Fluid Recruitment, James & Wells, Russell McVeagh, Artemis Executive Recruitment and LEAP Legal Software ANZ for supporting this event and the recognition of legal excellence.
