New Zealand Law Awards: Update

Nominations have closed; what’s next for the awards event of the year?

Nominations for the New Zealand Law Awards closed last week. Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations this year –we received a strong response across all categories and this is once again guaranteed to be a significant event on the 2015 industry calendar.

Finalists will be announced in the next issue of NZLawyer magazine out in September as well as the official event website. Our team will notify finalists individually prior to this.

While the research process to determine this year’s finalists gets underway, here’s a look at some of the statistics from the nominations stage:

581 – total nominations received across 26 categories
126 – firms participated this year, submitting at least one nomination each
68 – deals have been put forward for consideration in six categories
20 – managing partners and CEOs have been nominated for the prestigious Managing Partner of the Year award
19 – in-house teams are vying for the title of New Zealand In-House Team of the Year

Ahead of the announcement of this year’s finalists, a preliminary list of finalists in the Deal categories will be published on the New Zealand Law Awards website in early August to allow time to confirm all the parties involved in each transaction.

The New Zealand Law Awards will be held at the Pullman Hotel Auckland on Thursday 19 November. The event reached capacity well ahead of time last year so we encourage you to book your tables early so you don’t miss out.

Please contact Paul Ferris at [email protected] to book your table today.
