New summit to explore evolving role of in-house counsel

In-house lawyers face some unique issues, including budget pressures, constantly updating employment and contract laws, an expectation to play a business advisory role, building trust and not being seen as the person who always says no, balancing employment law commitments with a need to be seen as a trusted colleague, and managing legal compliance in a global business.

Yet, moving in-house is becoming more popular for New Zealand lawyers. Indeed, in-house lawyers make up 22% of the New Zealand based profession and is likely to increase further, according to recent statistics from the NZ Law Society.

NZ Lawyer has put together a new Summit, the In-House Legal Summit, coming to Auckland this November to provide in-house lawyers with the skills and tools to adapt and stay relevant in the changing business environment.

This one-day conference features leading in-house counsel from Auckland Council, Zespri International, Nikko Asset Management, and many more who will provide delegates with critical business advisory knowledge, and explore how technology can enable them to streamline their workload.

For a limited time only NZ Lawyer is offering readers Super Saver tickets to this must-attend event. Find out more and book online at XXX

The NZ In-House Legal Summit will be held at the Cordis Auckland on Tuesday 27 November.
