Simpson Grierson has welcomed three new senior associates to its Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland office.

Edward Colenbrander and Zak Nasir were promoted to the role while Samantha Knott joins the firm fresh off a years-long stint in London. All three have different areas of legal expertise.

Colenbrander has been part of the construction law team for the past five years. He concentrates on dispute resolution and construction litigation, especially the resolution of building defects disputes. He has worked on major construction projects across Aotearoa.

Nasir commenced with the firm almost three years ago and practises with the real estate team. He specialises in projects and property developments, particularly the acquisition, complex land development arrangements and sale or lease of large-scale property development projects.

Knott is a financial services litigation specialist and an expert in matters involving insolvency, debt recovery, contractual disputes, directors’ duties, shareholder disputes, fraud, and regulatory enforcement. Her client list has included major banks, company officers and insolvency practitioners in New Zealand and overseas.

“Edward, Samantha and Zak bring fresh thinking, energy and specialist expertise to our teams”, board chair Pip Muir said. “These promotions reflect our ongoing commitment to nurturing talent, and I look forward to seeing the valuable contribution each will make, across our different practice areas. Congratulations to Edward and Zak on their well-deserved promotions – and welcome Samantha!”
