The firm’s newly promoted partner joins two lateral hires
Wynn Williams has appointed three new partners, bringing the firm’s partnership to 20.
Lucy de Latour has been promoted from senior associate and joins lateral hires Stephen Lowe and Matthew Couch. Lowe, the most senior among the lawyers, was most recently a partner at Chapman Tripp, where he spent more than 20 years as a partner, after spending nearly five years as partner at Russell McVeagh. Couch was most recently principal at Greenwood Roche.
Lowe is the newest partner of the firm’s Corporate & Commercial team. He specialises in corporate and commercial law and is particularly focused on mergers and acquisitions and securities and energy law. He has worked on IPOs, large scale acquisitions and disposals, commercial leasing, unit title developments and property financing.
De Latour joined the firm’s Resource Management and Environmental Law partners. She has been with the firm since 2013 – spending a year on secondment to a major local government – and has focused on freshwater management, the Canterbury rebuild, and retail and industrial developments. She has detailed knowledge of district and regional plan formation and plan change processes, resource consent applications, resource management related law reform and local government and public works legislation.
Couch became partner at the firm’s Commercial Property & Projects team. His specialisation includes large scale acquisitions and disposals, commercial leasing, unit title developments, and property financing. He has worked in a wide array of transactions including commercial developments, commercial property sales and corporate mergers and acquisitions.
