Morris Legal grows senior ranks

Boutique litigation firm Morris Legal has promoted Georgia Angus to senior associate and Aria Newfield to senior solicitor. The promotions grow Morris Legal’s senior ranks and further expand its specialist trust, estate, and relationship property expertise.

“Morris Legal is delighted to announce these promotions, which recognise both the significant contributions that Georgia and Aria have made to the firm and their individual expertise,” founding partner Sally Morris said.

Angus began working at Morris Legal in November 2016, having begun her career at Russell McVeagh. Her clients include charities, professional trustees, and high net worth individuals.

She is an experienced litigator and has appeared in the Family Court, District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. She is fast developing a reputation for her expert handling of complex private client matters.

Morris describes Angus as a talented lawyer who works tirelessly for clients.

“Georgia has exceptional written and advocacy skills and makes complicated legal issues clear and understandable to our clients. Her commercial experience and training enable her to take a pragmatic and strategic approach to private client matters,” she said.

“Since starting at Morris Legal, I have been fortunate to work on a wide range of high profile, interesting and legally challenging matters. The firm has a supportive team environment and is an excellent place to work,” Angus said.

Newfield joined Morris Legal in November 2017 from Russell McVeagh. Since that time, she has had extensive involvement in contentious trust, estate and relationship property matters and represented clients in both the Family Court and High Court and at mediation.

“Aria is an excellent lawyer and a promising advocate,” Morris said. “She has an ability to build rapport with clients and consistently produces exceptional work product.”

Since its launch in November 2016, Morris Legal has built a reputation as the preeminent litigation firm dealing with contentious trust, estate and relationship property matters.

Morris Legal lawyers combine top-tier law firm training and advocacy experience with specialist legal knowledge. The appointment of a senior associate and senior solicitor, which took effect on 1 December, reflects the depth of legal talent at Morris Legal and further strengthens the firm’s offerings on complex trust, estate and relationship property matters.
