Aussie firm expands into Northern Territory
HWL Ebsworth has announced that it is to open two new offices in the Northern Territory as a long established firm joins with them. The lawyers and staff of Cridlands MB will join the firm to form the firm’s new Alice Springs and Darwin offices. The partners joining HWL Ebsworth will be Graeme Buckley, Tony Morgan, Richard Giles, Charlie Martel and Chris McDuff.

Two new partners will boost the real estate practice of DLA Piper in Australia. Eagul Faigen will join the Perth office in February 2015 from Norton Rose Fulbright and Tim Mathers will join the Brisbane office at the same time from Herbert Smith Freehills.
Orrick appoints new full-time talent chief
Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has announced the appointment of Siobhan Handley to chief talent officer. She steps into the role on a full-time basis, after maintaining a dual focus for the past several years on her litigation practice and her role as partner-in-charge of the firm’s associate and of counsel talent programs. Handley assumes the new role from January.
Linklaters revenue grows; profits up 7 per cent
Linklaters’ revenue has grown to AU$2.33 billion in its latest accounts, rising from AU$2.22 billion in the previous year. Profits are also up by 7 per cent before partner payouts. The highest earning Linklaters partner received AU$4.48 million. The firm has seen a growth in banking and other financial industry business in recent years, particularly with regulatory issues increasing.
Stephenson Harwood increases revenue by 12 per cent
Growing firm Stephenson Harwood has posted increased turnover of AU$119.4 million; up 12 per cent on the previous year. The London-based firm has been expanding its Asian and Middle East operations with a new licence to operate in Seoul and its new Dubai office which has seen significant revenue growth.
