MinterEllisonRuddWatts has welcomed a new partner, six special counsel and six senior associates in a recent round of appointments.

Financial services lawyer Claire Brabant has been promoted to the firm’s partnership. She has worked on matters involving insurance, private equity and financial advice.

She began her tenure with MinterEllisonRuddWatts as a senior associate in April 2023, according to LinkedIn. Previously, she practised in-house, holding roles with the Bank of New Zealand, Westpac NZ, AMP, NZ Funds, Aspect Capital and Credit Suisse in the past 20 years.

Brabant focuses on investment funds such as KiwiSaver and superannuation, as well as discretionary investment management services and financial services regulation. She has advised on compliance with the CoFI regime and FMA enquiries, reviews and investigations.

Her clients have included fund managers Generate, Fisher Funds and SBS Wealth. She has also worked on offer documents, governing deeds, licensing requirements and on establishing and operating various fund structures and investment arrangements. She has supported clients throughout the full product development life cycle.
