She brings in-house legal experience from a decade-long stint in London
DLA Piper has welcomed litigator Bridget Murphy as the newest partner in its litigation team.
She brings significant in-house experience from a decade spent as executive litigation counsel at a US-headquartered multinational conglomerate operating in London. In this role, she collaborated with C-suite executives in the US and Europe and managed high-value disputes and investigations across the UK, Europe, and the APAC region.
“Bridget embodies the qualities we value globally – technically excellent, pragmatic advice, strategic foresight and an ability to translate complexity into clarity. Her international experience aligns with the needs of our clients, particularly those with multi-jurisdictional matters”, DLA Piper global co-chair Jon Hayes said.
Murphy has guided commercial organisations on legal risk and dispute resolution. She has represented international clients in litigation, international arbitration, mediation, and expert determination.
At DLA Piper, she will aid the firm in advising clients involved in complex commercial disputes across local and international jurisdictions.
“Bridget’s appointment deepens our already excellent litigation and regulatory offering. Her commercial acumen, cross-border experience, and ability to horizon gaze risk make her a true asset to our clients navigating complex disputes or regulatory matters”, DLA Piper NZ country managing partner Laura Scampion said.
Murphy will practise alongside partners Iain Thain, Emma Moran and Daniel Street.
