Lighter side: Lawyers opt for extravagant funerals

When it comes to the final send-off, lawyers are the most likely to go out in style, a new survey has revealed.

In a poll of more than 1,800 British adults who had organised a funeral, Perfect Choice Funerals found that lawyers typically had the most lavish final farewells.

Funerals for people who had worked in the legal sector accounted for 15 percent of funerals that cost over the national average of £3,600.

Former health workers placed second for above average funeral spending, accounting for 13% of expensive funerals, followed by those who had military careers (11 percent), those who worked in the finance sector (eight percent) and former educators (six percent).
