Leading firm raises tens of thousands for families in need
MinterEllisonRuddWatts has raised tens of thousands of dollars for two charities that support families in need.

More than $28,000 was raised by the top firm’s staff during its annual fundraising month. This year, its two offices chose The Neonatal Trust in Wellington and the Child Poverty Action Group in Auckland as beneficiaries, raising $8,055.76 and $20,152.14 for the organisations, respectively.

The Neonatal Trust supports families of premature or sick full-term babies, while the Child Poverty Action Group is fighting child poverty through research, education, and advocacy.

“All Kiwi children deserve the best start in life,” said Lloyd Kavanagh, MinterEllisonRuddWatts chair. “We’re pleased that our fundraising efforts will help make a challenging start in life a bit easier, in two different ways. But as a country we can do better, and we must, to ensure New Zealand thrives over the longer term.”

Throughout its fundraising month, the firm’s staff organised various events, including TradeMe auctions, breakfast and dinner events, quiz and movie nights with clients and staff, and traditional bake sales and raffles.
