Immigration law specialist joins Todd & Walker

Queenstown Lakes firm Todd & Walker has appointed Hetish Lochan to the role of special counsel in immigration.

Lochan is an immigration law specialist with over 10 years of legal experience. He has broad expertise in both corporate and private client immigration and citizenship instructions.

His decision to focus on immigration law stemmed from his own experience as an immigrant and being aware of the struggles that immigrants often deal with. He has assisted clients on a wide range of immigration matters, such as temporary and residence visa applications, appeals against visa declines, deportations, character and medical waiver applications and special direction requests.

Lochan has also worked with various employers to ensure that their documents, such as employment agreements and visa support letters, are in accordance with immigration legislation and policy.

Prior to his immigration work, he was a resource management lawyer. He also served as hearings manager in the Environment Court.
