The senior lawyer has been instrumental in developing the firm’s litigation and restructuring team in the city-state
Harneys has picked James Noble to be its managing partner in Singapore.
The litigation partner succeeds Lisa Pearce, who has retired. Pearce was the managing partner in Singapore since the office was established in 2014.
“I would like to congratulate James on his promotion and wish him every success in his new role,” said Peter Tarn, Harneys chairman. “Under his stewardship, the Singapore office will continue to go from strength to strength.”
Noble has been instrumental in developing the litigation and restructuring team in Singapore, Tarn said. The new managing partner joined the offshore law firm in 2010 as an associate in the Cayman Islands. He moved to Hong Kong in 2012, and transferred to Singapore last year to lead the newly established litigation and restructuring practice.
He has more than 20 years’ experience as a Cayman and British Virgin Islands litigation lawyer. He has acted in a wide range of commercial disputes.
“I am delighted to be leading the way for Harneys’ Singapore office at an exciting time of growth and expansion for us in the Southeast Asia region. On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Lisa for making the office the success it is today, and to wish her a long and happy retirement,” Noble said.
Harneys first opened in Asia with a Hong Kong office in 2005. It now also has an office in Shanghai.
