The corporate lawyer has worked on significant transactions like Vodafone NZ’s $3.4bn sale
Corporate lawyer Hannah Turton has made partner at Bell Gully.
She focuses on matters involving private M&A, private equity, growth equity investments, joint venture arrangements and public control transactions. She has worked with private capital, corporate and listed issuer clients.
Turton has worked on significant M&A deals, including Lactalis’ pitched acquisition of Fonterra’s global consumer and associated businesses, which was valued at $4.22bn. She advised Fiera Comox Partners in relation to its joint venture with Ngāi Tahu Holdings involving the latter’s West Coast Estate Plantations.
She assisted Synlait Milk on its $217.8m capital raise in 2024 and guided Vodafone Group Plc as it sold Vodafone NZ to the Infratil-Brookfield Asset Management consortium for $3.4bn.
From 2019 to 2024, Turton logged a stint at Freshfields LLP in London, where she assisted Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC with its acquisition of Cinven’s shares in specialist insurance and re-insurance broker Miller. She also advised global growth equity investor General Atlantic as it invested in Turkey e-commerce platform Trendyol.
She helped CVC Growth with its growth fund’s ~€200m investment to purchase a minority stake in IT service desk platform TOPdesk. She also assisted private equity firm Hellman & Friedman with the divestment of its TeamSystem minority stake to Silver Lake Partners.
Turton serves on the Women at Bell Gully committee. She joins the firm’s partnership while on parental leave; Bell Gully confirmed that she is set to resume her practice at the firm in April.
