Guardians of NZ Superannuation promotes Russell McVeagh alum to GC

Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation has promoted Russell McVeagh alum Craig Douglas to GC.

In this role, Douglas will lead the Crown entity’s legal function. Corporate affairs GM Cristina Billett praised the appointment, describing Douglas as “a key member of the Guardians’ legal team for many years and brings considerable international banking, finance and transactional legal experience to the role.”

Douglas has been a senior legal counsel with Guardians since 2013. In addition to a stint as senior solicitor at Russell McVeagh, he has held roles at Standard Bank (UK), Buddle Findlay and Arthur Anderson.

He steps into the GC position on 10 October.

Billett was elevated from legal head at the Guardians entity to corporate affairs GM in July.
