GC returns to Lane Neave, makes partner

Former Williams Corporation GC Jaxon Grieve has returned to Lane Neave and made partner.

Grieve initially recommenced with the firm as a senior associate, but was promoted to the partnership this month. He is part of the firm’s commercial property team, becoming the seventh partner on the team.

“Jaxon had a stellar career with Lane Neave before spending several years as general counsel for one of New Zealand’s leading residential property developers,” Lane Neave managing partner Andrew Shaw said. “He has returned to Lane Neave with an expanded base of commercial and legal expertise, and we’re delighted to recognise his capability and potential by having him join the partnership”.

Grieve added that he was “looking forward to reconnecting with past clients and existing connections, and establishing new relationships”.

Grieve has tackled commercial and residential developments, subdivisions, acquisitions and divestments, leasing, unit titles and property finance. He is also an expert on compliance matters relating to property transactions; he is knowledgeable when it comes to New Zealand’s financial markets legislation and the Overseas Investment Act.

In addition, he has worked on cross-border transactions.

Grieve’s appointment follows the firm’s recent absorption of Auckland business and commercial boutique Clendons.
