Duncan Cotterill names new chief executive

Duncan Cotterill has found its next chief executive.

The national firm has confirmed that Pete Boyle will commence as CEO in February, bringing to the firm extensive experience in leadership positions in the professional services sector.

He was a senior manager at PwC in London before moving back to New Zealand to become a partner at Deloitte. He also founded and led consulting firm Acuity Partners.

After a three-year stint in a senior business development role at the New Zealand Defence Force, he was named CEO of AJ Park in 2010, which was acquired by IP services group IPH last year. He stayed on as CEO until early this year.

“Pete has an exceptional track record in the professional services sector having worked across consulting, accounting and the law. He is an outstanding leader and communicator and we are delighted to have him join our firm,” said Struan McOmish, Duncan Cotterill chairman.

“Professional Services firms are largely reliant on the calibre of people they can attract and the ability to create an environment that enables those people to deliver outstanding results for their clients. Strong and capable leadership is a critical ingredient to enabling our people to perform to the best of their abilities,” he said.

The new chief executive said he is excited to join a national firm of Duncan Cotterill’s repute.

“Duncan Cotterill is a terrific firm comprising good people who have a reputation for doing outstanding legal work. I’m looking forward to meeting our team and getting to know our clients,” he said.
