Contract Law Masterclass talks post-COVID-19 contract trends

Registration is now open for the Contract Law Masterclass, where New Zealand’s top law firms will aim to address the current contract law environment as the country begins to get back on track after experiencing a major force majeure event.

Experts from MinterEllisonRuddWatts, Lane Neave and Buddle Findlay will be part of a special panel that tackles the short- and medium-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on commercial contracts.

In a talk covering contractual trends after the pandemic, speakers will tackle questions like:

  • How has the contractual process changed as a result of COVID-19?
  • What are the main contract trends arising from the COVID-19 lockdown?

The panel will discuss alternatives to termination clauses that provide flexibility for parties and contractual drafting trends related to delays and liquidated damages, as well as provide tips on advising both external and internal clients on post-COVID-19 risk allocation.

The virtual masterclass will be held on 26 August.
