Clifford Chance grows Latin America team with corporate M&A hire in Houston

Clifford Chance has welcomed Joshua Bernard to its corporate M&A practice in Houston, US. Joining Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, Bernard's appointment as counsel will strengthen the firm's corporate M&A capabilities in the Latin America region.

Bernard represents clients across a broad spectrum of corporate and financing matters, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, debt and equity capital markets, commercial lending and corporate governance. He has significant experience advising public and private companies, private equity sponsors, investors and banks across sectors in the region.

Partner and co-head of the Latin America practice Fabricio Longhin said, "Josh's arrival will help us meet client demand across a broad range of sectors, including energy and infrastructure, technology, healthcare and financial services, in the growing markets in Latin America."

M&A partner in the Latin America group David Brinton added: “Josh is an excellent, practical lawyer, and clients love working with him. He fits seamlessly into our global M&A platform, and we’re thrilled to add his experience to our team.”

This hire follows the firm's launch in Houston last year, and the continued growth of its energy and infrastructure capabilities with the addition of partner Cephas Sekhar and counsel Kyle Kreshover in Houston.

“I am delighted to join Clifford Chance’s exceptional corporate M&A team, and thrilled to be part of the firm's integrated Latin America practice, which I’ve long admired,” said Bernard. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to deepen the firm's practice and deliver exceptional value to our clients."
