Chapman Tripp Patents has expanded its team with the addition of patent experts Toby Larsson Hogman and Hossein Mehrabi.

Hogman steps into the role of senior associate, bringing 20 years of international patents experience to the firm. The Sweden native is qualified as a European patent attorney, and previously held leadership positions in the Swedish Air Force.

Before his qualification, Hogman was an inventor who developed what Chapman Tripp described as “an innovative optical blood analysis device” for a biomedical testing company. He holds a master’s degree in engineering physics and specialises in medical devices, electromechanical devices, biometrics, AI, and software.

New patent attorney Mehrabi is registered to practice in both Australia and New Zealand. He has almost a decade of experience in patents, with particular expertise in filing and prosecuting patent applications for wireless power transfer, medical devices, and green technology.

Previously, he was an electronics engineer who developed in-flight entertainment systems.
