Bell Gully has promoted Ash Hebden, Sarah Brougham, Jae Kim and Meggan Staines to senior associate.

Hebden and Brougham practise with the corporate team, while Kim and Staines are part of the litigation team.

Hebden focuses on public and private M&A. He has tackled issues involving capital raisings, and company and securities law.

He has a particular interest in matters concerning the technology and digital infrastructure sectors. He assisted Fltecher Building with its $700m fully underwritten accelerated non-renounceable entitlement offer and placement; he also worked with Clarus on its joint venture with Harmony Energy Limited to develop and run what Bell Gully described as the country's biggest solar farm.

Brougham concentrates on M&A, capital raising, corporate governance and commercial contracting concerns, as well as IP and regulatory issues. Her clients have included corporates and listed issuers.

She advised Northwest Healthcare Properties Management in its capacity as manager of Vital Healthcare Property Trust regarding the internalisation of Vital's management and its $220m capital raising last year. She also assisted Metro Performance Glass Limited with its recapitalisation via a placement and rights offer.

Kim has tackled complex contractual disputes, negligence claims and regulatory investigations. He has helped to protect IP and trade secrets.

As an independent barrister, he appeared before the Supreme Court. He recorded stints at Britomart Chambers and Shortland Chambers. He helped to secure urgent interim relief in High Court for an international client in a complex contractual dispute involving an overseas defendant.

Staines has a strong civil dispute resolution background and has handled shareholder and director disputes, compulsory land acquisition compensation claims, regulatory investigations and prosecutions, insurance disputes, professional disciplinary proceedings, property disputes, and insolvencies. She has appeared before the Court of Appeal.

She represented the Auckland Council and City Rail Link Limited in City Rail Link-related compulsory land acquisition compensation claims. She also acted for Southern Response in Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal proceedings.
