Anthony Harper has welcomed projects and real estate expert Justin Maloney as a special counsel its property team.
Maloney is based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland. He has represented landlords and tenants on commercial leasing concerns.
He has handled matters across the entire property lifecycle, including acquisition, structuring, development, and disposal. He has worked with not-for-profit organisations.
Maloney helped an NZX-listed property fund on portfolio acquisitions involving large-format retail and shopping centres. Moreover, he assisted an international logistics company with the strategic sale and leaseback of a purpose-built facility.
He guided international private investors in acquiring New Zealand forestry assets and a global hotel group on commercial accommodation and management arrangements throughout tourism projects.
Before he joined the legal profession, Maloney was an operations manager at Microtech Industries Limited, per LinkedIn. He was also Position Technology Inc’s vice president of operations, Powerbox Pacific’s New Zealand regional manager, and Rakon’s marketing communications manager.
He has spearheaded contract negotiations with global clients, large-scale project management, operations, and business development.
“Justin brings a valuable combination of technical property expertise and real-world commercial insight. His experience across complex developments and leasing, alongside his background in industry, strengthens our ability to deliver practical, strategic advice to our clients”, said Anthony Harper partner Tim Bunker.
