Anthony Harper starts year with a bang
Anthony Harper has started 2018 with a bang with its largest promotion round yet.

The firm has appointed two new partners, two new special counsel, six new senior associate and three new associates.

Malcolm Hurley, managing partner, said that the firm is continuing to grow and this growth is sustained by the strength and expertise of the people who work in its teams.

The firm’s new partners, Jackie Behrnes and Megan Compton, are both based in Christchurch. Behrnes is a member of the firm’s employment team, while Compton is with its corporate advisory group.

Behrnes, who has practiced in both New Zealand and the UK, joined the firm in early 2017. She has extensive experience in employment law, with a particular focus on senior executive employment issues, redundancy, personal grievances, disciplinary processes, employment agreements and dispute resolution.

“We value each member of our partnership team. Our diverse leadership gives Anthony Harper a strong competitive advantage as we are able to look at opportunities from a myriad of different perspectives. It is one of the factors behind our tremendous growth and success over the last few years,” Hurley said.

Anthony Harper’s new special counsel are Aimee Edwards and Lynne Van, who are based in Christchurch and Auckland, respectively.

Edwards, who has more than 17 years’ experience as a lawyer, is an expert trust and asset planning lawyer. She has particular focus on trusts, asset protection, elder law, estate planning and wills.
