An industry succeeds not only on the back of client satisfaction, but employee satisfaction as well. And this is what event sponsor Fluid Legal Recruitment seeks to highlight at the 2023 NZ Law Awards.

“We continue to be impressed by the level of innovation and drive to evolve the standard of wellbeing, retaining key staff and creating an environment people want to be a part of”, the organisation explained.

The accolade is coveted by the leading firms in the New Zealand legal landscape. Last year, Tompkins Wake emerged as the 2022 Employer of Choice (<100 Lawyers) after a hard-fought victory over big names like AJ Park, Lane Neave, Mayne Wetherell, Norris Ward McKinnon, Webb Henderson and Wotton + Kearney. Meanwhile, 2022 Employer of Choice (>100 Lawyers) Simpson Grierson was in excellent company, with Excellence Awardees like Anderson Lloyd, Anthony Harper, Bell Gully, Buddle Findlay, Chapman Tripp, Dentons Kensington Swan, MinterEllisonRuddWatts and Russell McVeagh.

The Employer of Choice categories are just 2 of the 25 categories where members of the legal industry can nominate themselves or their peers. The 2023 NZ Law Awards highlight the achievements of the leading lawyers, law firms, in-house teams and mediators in New Zealand, and it is gearing up to be the biggest night in the industry.

NZ Lawyer put forward the call for nominations on 5 June, and the window is rapidly closing as the nominations period ends on 7 July. Those looking to nominate can do so online; you can submit nominations for as many of the categories as you like.

The Excellence Awardees will be revealed on 31 August, after which a panel of independent judges will determine the overall winners. The winners will then be revealed at the 2023 NZ Law Awards ceremony, which will be held at the Cordis Auckland on 23 November.

The black-tie gala event will be hosted by The Nutters Club’s Mike King.

“The New Zealand Law Awards is the most esteemed and anticipated event in the New Zealand legal calendar, recognising outstanding achievement, innovation, and exceptional leadership across various practice areas and sectors”, said Aya Riola, general manager – NZ at 2023 NZ Law Awards event partner LexisNexis. “We look forward to bringing together legal professionals, thought leaders, and industry experts to celebrate exceptional accomplishments and contributions to the legal field”.

NZ Lawyer would like to extend special thanks to event partner LexisNexis, as well as to event sponsors Resolution Institute, Fluid Recruitment, James & Wells, Russell McVeagh and Artemis Executive Recruitment, for supporting this event and the recognition of legal excellence.
