As the group general counsel, Galligan is ultimately responsible for the work performed by Transurban’s legal team to support the business. Apart from looking after the day-to-day legal needs of a c.$35billion market capitalisation infrastructure company, and supporting Transurban’s $10billion infrastructure development pipeline, Callighan’s highlights for 2018 include work supporting the acquisition of a 51% stake in WestConnex for $9.3billion and the associated raising of $4.8billion in equity; and coming up with $1.9billion in equity to fund Transurban’s market led proposal for the Westgate Tunnel project.
