Dentons hires employment and safety partner Jackie Hamilton, two special counsel

Dentons has announced the additions of Jackie Hamilton, partner, and Lara Hues and Christie Toy, special counsel, to its employment and safety team and its Brisbane office.

Nick Linke, Dentons’ Australia employment and safety practice group leader and partner, welcomed the three new team members, who previously worked at Crown Law then at Holding Redlich.

“Onboarding Jackie, Lara, and Christie further solidifies our commitment to client service in this progressively complex field of law,” said Linke in the firm’s press release. “Their expertise boosts our bench strength and is a proactive stride towards pre-empting and addressing our clients' growing needs.”

Hamilton, Hues, and Toy are experienced in public sector employment law. They have advised and represented state government departments and entities in employment matters. In the area of workplace law, they have assisted clients on a wide range of employment, discrimination, discipline, and industrial relations issues.

Hamilton worked for Crown Law for two decades, with 10 of those years spent acting as assistant Crown solicitor, a role in which she managed a large team of workplace lawyers. After that, she was a partner at Holding Redlich.

19-strong team

Hamilton expressed enthusiasm on behalf of herself, Hues, and Toy about joining Dentons.

“In light of the recent extensive employment reforms, it is crucial to be part of a dynamic team that supports and encourages a forward-thinking perspective to the increasing complexities of employment law,” Hamilton said in the firm’s press release.

“It’s also paramount that clients not only stay compliant but also stay one step ahead so Dentons' reputation for in-depth expertise, innovative tactics and proactive client service aligns perfectly with our approach,” she added in the press release.

With Hamilton’s appointment, Dentons' employment and safety practice group now has seven partners. Considering the additions of Hues and Toy, the group presently has a national team of 19 lawyers.

Back in March, Dentons announced the appointments in Sydney of employment and safety partners Justin Le Blond and Persephone Stuckey-Clarke, along with their team.
