He established and headed up G+T's energy and infrastructure practice
Former Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) energy and infrastructure team head Alexander Danne has been announced as the new head of energy at Clayton Utz.
Danne brings significant experience in energy and infrastructure investment, and project delivery, trades and finance. Over a legal career spanning more than two decades, he has advised on early-stage diligence and joint development arrangements, bids, execution, financial close, operations, post-completion structuring, and exit strategies.
"'Australia’s transition to a low-carbon economy presents a challenge and an opportunity for many of our clients. Our clients involved in the ongoing energy transition require strategic and technical legal advice encompassing regulation, financing, planning, permitting, commercial arrangements and government engagement", Clayton Utz CEP Emma Covacevich said. "The legal expertise the transition requires is a core part of Alex's practice, and he has advised on some of the country's most significant energy projects, particularly in the renewables and clean energy space".
In addition to leading G+T's energy and infrastructure team, Danne was the one to establish the practice at that firm. His clients have included major regional and international stakeholders, developers, contractors, financiers and equity investors across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
He will officially join the Clayton Utz partnership in Melbourne at the start of July.
