Sparke Helmore installs new employment service line leader

Sparke Helmore has installed a new employment service line leader following the election of Roland Hassall to the board chair role.

Brendan Charles has been a partner at Sparke Helmore’s Melbourne office for over 10 years. He has extensive expertise in employment and workplace relations.

He has worked with senior executives and human resources, employee relations and operations managers in the manufacturing, tertiary education, retail, financial services and insurance sectors. He has represented clients before the Fair Work Commission, the Federal Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court.

“Roland leaves behind a huge legacy in the role of service line leader that I will work very hard to continue,” Charles said. “I am very excited about taking up the role and look forward to continuing to build our national employment practice.”

“This is again a recognition of the technical and client excellence that Brendan demonstrates day after day,” national workplace group leader Catherine Wilkinson said.
