Maddocks names new special counsel

Maddocks has announced the appointment of Taboka Finn to the role of special counsel.

Finn joined the firm’s employment, safety and people team in Melbourne. She moved from Justitia Lawyers & Consultants, where she held a special counsel position for three years.

A practising lawyer for almost 15 years, Finn has dealt with a wide range of employment law issues, such as contracts, entitlements, discrimination, performance management, transfer of business, redundancy, and termination.

She has represented numerous clients across the public and private sectors before courts and tribunals, including the Fair Work Commission, the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission, the Supreme Court of Victoria, and the Federal Court.

She also has broad experience in conducting workplace reviews in compliance with relevant laws, with a particular focus on the prevention of bullying and other forms of discrimination and harassment.

Maddock partner Catherine Dunlop said that Finn is an “outstanding addition” to the firm’s employment, safety and people team.

“Taboka has vast experience advising both public and private sector clients on matters of great sensitivity and importance to the effective running of their organisations,” Dunlop said. “She takes a proactive approach and she is valued by her clients for spotlighting and solving possible issues before they arise.”
