Damian Reichel and Andrew Turner, Sydney-based partners, take the lead
Johnson Winter Slattery (JWS), an independent Australian law firm, has confirmed its role in advising JPK Capital on its partnership with Wingstop Restaurants Inc. and the launch of the US-based fast-casual restaurant chain in Australia.
Sydney-based partners Damian Reichel and Andrew Turner led the deal team, according to a news release from JWS. Paris Goode, senior associate, and Ben Wilson, associate, provided support. Matthew Shanahan, partner, gave tax advice.
“We are thrilled to have supported JPK Capital in bringing such a dynamic and globally recognised brand to Australia,” Reichel said in the news release. “This project reflects our strength in cross-border transactions and our deep understanding of the venture capital sector.”
JWS said its deal team members and executives of JPK Capital and Wingstop Australia attended a private launch event at the flagship Wingstop restaurant in Sydney’s Kings Cross precinct. The firm added that the Kings Cross store marks the first of numerous planned openings nationwide.
The launch event included a first look at the restaurant’s furnishings and signature menu, including its chicken wings options. The event also featured live entertainment and remarks from stakeholders coming together for the restaurant’s launch in Australia.
“It was fantastic to see the vision come to life and to celebrate this milestone with the JPK and Wingstop teams,” Turner said in the firm’s news release.
