A long-time veteran of MinterEllison has made the jump to Piper Alderman Melbourne’s corporate partnership.

Marcus Best spent over three decades as a partner at MinterEllison. He has considerable experience with corporate and ECM issues, IPOs, ASX listings and capital raisings, takeovers, M&A, joint ventures, and project exploration and development.

“Marcus is a leading corporate lawyer and his experience in the Asian market complements our national team and international group,” Piper Alderman managing partner Tony Britten-Jones said.

His clients include both global and local entities in the mining, agribusiness, infrastructure and private equity sectors, among others. He has worked on major deals like Huayou Cobalt Co.’s acquisition of the Arcadia Lithium Mine Project from ASX-listed Prospect Resources, China Nuclear Power Corporation’s takeover acquisition of Extract Resources' $2bn Husab Uranium Project, and the $2bn takeover acquisition of Australian Gas Networks.

Best is listed in Best Lawyers Australia under the categories of corporate law and mining law. Moreover, he is part of the Australia-China Business Council and the Australia-India Chamber of Commerce.
