HopgoodGanim advises City Fertility on fertility clinic acquisition

HopgoodGanim Lawyers has advised leading IVF and fertility service group City Fertility on its acquisition of Perth-based Fertility Specialists of WA.

According to City Fertility, the transaction will expand the company’s network of premier clinics across Australia, as well as strengthen its focus on excellence in reproductive medicine, research and pregnancy outcomes.

CEO and founder Adnan Catakovic said that the acquisition was a “perfect union” and will allow City Fertility to provide services in WA that are on a par with its flagship facilities in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“This new acquisition will allow us to better share the Western Australian team’s specialist skills in in vitro maturation across the national and global group, supporting our ethos of offering great care to more patients,” Catakovic said.

HopgoodGanim confirmed that the acquisition was partly funded by a capital raising from City Fertility’s existing shareholder base, which was previously undertaken with support from corporate partner Michael Hansel and associate Christina Hooper.

Partners Luke Mountford and Tim Scanlan led HopgoodGanim’s private enterprise team on the transaction. They were assisted by associates Sarah Judge and Luke Smith.
