Hall & Wilcox has assisted Maggie Beer Holdings through all legal aspects of the sale of its dairy business, St David Dairy, to Goulbourn Valley Creamery. Partner James Morvell and special counsel Vanessa Murphy led the team, with lawyers Michael Henderson and Aron Mazur supporting.
The sale was completed with all staff remaining with St David Dairy’s new owners.

The divestment was aligned with Maggie Beer Holdings’ recent decision to focus on core assets. Apart from Maggie Beer products, it is focussed on growing Hampers & Gifts Australia, which it acquired last July 2021 also with the assistance of Hall & Wilcox. The firm guided the company throughout the acquisition as well as an associated $30 million capital-raising transaction.
