Ashurst, a global law firm, has announced the appointment of Amelia Morgan as a Sydney-based partner in its Australian corporate law practice to grow its mergers and acquisitions offering in the country and worldwide. 

According to the firm’s news release, Morgan has assisted clients with public and private M&A and corporate advisory matters. She has helped with recent Australian M&A deals, including transactions involving a general insurance partnership and the sale of a personal advice business.

Morgan’s clients have included large Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)-listed companies and private capital-backed investors.

Her experience has spanned the financial services, energy, consumer, and technology sectors. She has been a co-editor of a book on corporate and securities law and a contributor to publications regarding takeovers and insider trading.

Morgan’s LinkedIn profile provided more information regarding her professional experience and educational background. At Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in Sydney, she worked as a corporate and M&A partner from May 2023 to December 2025. 

At HSF in the Greater Sydney Area, she worked as a senior associate from July 2018 and as a solicitor from September 2013. Also at HSF, she worked as a paralegal from February 2012 and as a summer clerk from November 2011. 

From the University of Sydney, Morgan obtained an LLB and a bachelor’s degree in commerce in 2013. From UNSW, she earned an LLB and a bachelor’s degree in commerce in 2008.
