National law firm Holding Redlich has announced the appointments of Ben Constance as a corporate partner and Dado Hrustanpasic as a construction partner in Melbourne and Jonathan Usher as a construction partner in Brisbane.

“Ben, Dado and Jonathan bring a wealth of experience and knowledge that complements and adds to our current strengths and expertise,” said Troy Lewis, Holding Redlich’s national managing partner, in a media release from the firm.

“These appointments reflect our ongoing strategy to grow our transactional and disputes capabilities in key sectors, and our commitment to investing in practitioners with technical excellence and deep industry knowledge,” Lewis added in the media release.

The appointments seek to bolster Holding Redlich’s practice in the areas of corporate transactions and construction and infrastructure projects and disputes, the firm said in its media release.

Ben Constance

Constance has over two decades of international experience in cross-border M&A, private equity, and complex commercial transactions, according to Holding Redlich’s media release. He focuses on private equity-related transactions, joint ventures, and cross-border investments.

He was most recently general counsel at Petra Group. In this role, he oversaw the international conglomerate’s legal functions across a diversified portfolio covering sectors such as construction, film and media, agriculture, renewables, hospitality, technology, and property.

Before that, Constance held advisory roles and provided senior management and board-level advice on private company transactions and capital market deals across Australia, the US, the Middle East, and Asia.

“I’m pleased to be working with the Holding Redlich team to support clients through complex deals and growth opportunities, particularly in the private equity space,” Constance said in the media release.

Dado Hrustanpasic

Hrustanpasic has over 15 years of experience in major projects and infrastructure litigation and arbitration, the firm said in its media release. He has worked both as a private practitioner and an in-house lawyer, most recently at a large civil infrastructure contractor based in Australia.

He has qualifications in both law and civil engineering and experience managing technical and complex disputes concerning engineering, construction, and technology issues, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

“Joining a firm with such a strong focus on the construction, renewables and emerging technology sectors is a great opportunity to build a practice that combines technical depth with commercial understanding,” Hrustanpasic said in the media release. “I look forward to contributing to the continued expansion of the practice in Victoria and nationally.”

Jonathan Usher

Usher handles construction and infrastructure projects, property development, and structured finance, the firm’s media release said. He has over two decades of experience assisting clients with hotel, residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments and road, gas, water, and power projects across Australia and the Middle East.

He has experience drafting and advising on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), early contractor involvement (ECI), and joint venture agreements, as well as government and private sector infrastructure contracts.

“Queensland continues to see significant infrastructure investment, particularly as we approach the Brisbane 2032 Olympics,” Usher said in the media release. “I’m pleased to be joining a team that supports clients at every stage of the project lifecycle, delivering both front-end and back-end services.”
