Maddocks guides Satterley on Melbourne land acquisition

Maddocks has guided private residential developer Satterley as it acquired a site in Dingley Village, Melbourne.

The 53ha site was purchased from Australian Super in what the firm said was one of the largest land transactions to date.

Partner Nick Holuigue and senior associate Tom Pasco of the Maddocks property development team spearheaded the work on this transaction.

Special counsel additions enhance banking and finance team

Maddocks also strengthened its banking and finance practice with the addition of Paula Nassif and Colin Baker as special counsel.

Based in Sydney, Nassif founded and currently chairs Women in Loan Markets Australia (Melbourne). She has worked with financial institutions and corporate entities.

She has tackled complex corporate finance, real estate finance, acquisition finance, and project finance, as well as issues involving corporate transactions, governance, director duties, and legislative and regulatory changes.

Baker came to Maddocks in late 2023 following a stint at Reed Smith in London. He has advised on the structuring of debt financing, working with borrowers, funds, lenders and banks.

He has handled matters involving all areas of funds finance, including domestic and international fund structures. He also has experience with real estate financings, representing real estate debt funds deploying their assets against property assets, Maddocks said.
