Maddocks helps Ultra Violette with North American expansion

Maddocks has advised Australian skincare company Ultra Violette with its North American expansion via a partnership with a US equity firm.

According to the firm, this represents Ultra Violette’s “first capital investment from outside of the company”. The investment in Aria Growth Partners is also set to support Ultra Violette's product innovation initiatives.

As per the partnership arrangements, Ultra Violette founders Ava Chandler-Matthews and Rebecca Jefferd, will still be majority owners and operators of the business. The new investment will be utilised to facilitate a launch in Canada in March.

Maddocks assisted Ultra Violette on the transaction and is set to continue providing advice on commercial and distribution matters. The Maddocks team included commercial partner and consumer markets sector leader Greg Hipwell, special counsel James Hains, senior associate Mira Martin and lawyer Sophie Edgar.
