White & Case boosts UK tax practice with partner hire

White & Case LLP has expanded its tax practice with the addition of Jessica Kemp as a partner in London. She joins the firm from Travers Smith, where she was a partner and head of M&A tax.

"The demand on our tax practice in London has continued to grow," said White & Case partner Sang I. Ji, who leads the firm's tax practice. "The addition of Jessica, another highly experienced tax partner, is an important step to further build the practice to meet this demand."

Kemp advises public and private companies, financial sponsors and management teams on a wide range of tax matters pertaining to mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and capital markets, as well as structural and incentive-based issues. She also advises clients in relation to tax enquiries and disputes.

"Jessica is a talented tax partner with experience advising clients on a wide range of transactions," said White & Case partner James Dodsworth, regional section head EMEA M&A/Specialists. "This experience makes Jessica a valuable addition to our tax practice in London and enables her to hit the ground running, advising our clients on the full spectrum of their tax needs."

Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case's global executive committee, added: "We have expanded our transactional practices in London and across EMEA in recent years through the addition of market leading partners and partner promotions. It is essential that we mirror that growth in our tax practice and Jessica's arrival is an important step in that direction."
