Two new corporate partners for Ashurst in Australia

Greg Golding and Rob Hanley have joined the corporate team in Sydney as partners.

Golding joins from King & Wood Mallesons where he was a partner for 28 years. He specialises in public M&A and complex corporate transactions.

Hanley has 25 years of experience in London and Sydney with Minter Ellison, King & Wood Mallesons, and Seyfarth Shaw. He focuses on private M&A and restructurings across a range of sectors.

Ashurst’s Australia corporate head, Phil Breden says the additions to the team follow recent hires of partners Dan Yang in Sydney and Ratha Nabanidham in Brisbane.

“The team had its busiest year on record in 2018, advising on landmark transactions such as the Nine/Fairfax merger and Oxford Properties' successful contested takeover of the Investa Office Fund, and we have ambitions to continue to grow the practice in the near future,” he said.

Kennedys adds insurance litigation team in Southeast Asia
Kennedys has hired the former head of insurance litigation at Kelvin Chia Partnership in Singapore to bolster its Southeast Asia operation.

Partner Akramjeet Khaira and his team - associate, Nicholas Ng, a paralegal and two support staff – join the firm, which operates in Singapore as Kennedys Legal Solutions following the 2015 joint law venture with local firm Legal Solutions.

Meanwhile, Kennedys in Bangkok has promoted senior consultant Ian Johnston to partner.

Market-leading partner joins Pinsent Mason’s Asia Pacific team
Energy and infrastructure project finance specialist James Harris has joined Pinsent Masons as a partner in Singapore.

He joins the international firm from Jones Day in the city state but was previously global head of infrastructure at Hogan Lovells, where he was also the Singapore managing partner for 11 years.

His 30 years of experience spans project finance, project development, and the secondary market/Infrastructure M&A market.
