A new report has found links to a company Turnbull was a director was in the nineties.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has been found listed in the Panama Papers database.
A document showing he was the former director of Star Technology Services limited in the 90s, along with Turnbull’s business partner, former NSW premier Neville Wran has been found by Four Corners reporters.
The company was incorporated by Mossack Fonseca, the firm at the centre of the Panama Papers leak and one of the largest suppliers of shell companies in offshore jurisdictions. Both Wran and Turnbull resigned their directorship of the company in 1995.
Thousands of names of clients with the firm were leaked, revealing many public officials and politicians used offshore companies, many of which were legal. But according to an ABC report, information about Star Technology Services is contained in documents only accessible by journalists working with the International Consortium of Instigative Journalists.
The ABC reported that there is no suggesting of wrongdoing by either Turnbull or Wran.
