Three top firms ranked among Australia's best places to work

Three top-tier law firms are ranked among Australia’s top places to work, according to LinkedIn.

MinterEllison (21), Herbert Smith Freehills (23), and Allens (25) are included alongside other prominent Australian workplaces such as Qantas, Woolworths, and Westpac Group.

Inclusion is based on four key pillars: interest in the company, engagement with the company’s employees, job demand and employee retention.

"Our strong focus on enhancing our firm's LinkedIn presence, and the presence of our people on LinkedIn, has allowed us to greatly increase our reach and engagement," said Annette Kimmitt, MinterEllison Chief Executive Officer & Managing Partner. "More staff than ever are using LinkedIn, and it has become a platform to create valuable connections."

Five offices join Ince Gordon Dadds entity
Five Ince & Co offices have joined the UK-listed entity Ince Gordon Dadds.

Gordon Dadds acquired the UK business of Ince in a deal which completed in January this year after a full merger of the international operations were scaled back with most international offices remaining separate but operating in a network arrangement with the UK firm.

The latest development sees Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Greece and Germany join the UK entity bringing its reach to 12 offices.

The Ince network firms in France and Monaco are reportedly in talks with Ince Gordon Dadds about a possible merger.

Hong Kong lawyer among promotions at Skadden
The latest promotions round at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom includes one new partner in Asia Pacific.

Hong Kong based capital markets lawyer Paloma Wang makes partner along with nine in the US and one in London.
