Thomson Geer has advised Mitsubishi Motors Corporation on the increase of its shareholding in ASX-listed FleetPartners Group Ltd to 19.93%.
Mitsubishi first acquired a 5.01% stake in FleetPartners in June 2024. The company said in a statement that the decision to increase its holding aims to strengthen the strategic relationship between the two businesses. Mitsubishi also stated it has no current intention to acquire control or make a takeover offer.
Thomson Geer’s team advised on the transaction structure and on matters related to foreign investment, competition and takeovers law.

FleetPartners provides vehicle leasing, fleet management, and novated leasing services across Australia and New Zealand. The company has a market capitalisation of about $650m.
