The move comes as the firm passes its first decade in Australia
Pinsent Masons has relocated its Sydney headquarters from 1 Macquarie Place to 33 Alfred St.
The firm will occupy levels 16 and 17 of the heritage-listed skyscraper. It increases its office space by 1,850 square metres to 2,600 square metres.
“33 Alfred Street is an iconic address in Sydney, and we are incredibly excited to be calling it our home”, Pinsent Masons Sydney head Sadie Andrew said. “Our new office will provide us with the space and flexibility to efficiently collaborate with each other, our colleagues across our multinational network and our clients”.
She added that the move contributed to the firm’s sustainability targets given that the building is gunning for 5.5-Star NABERS Energy and 6-Star Green Star Office As Built v3 ratings.
Australia head Matthew Croagh explained that the relocation reflected the firm’s investment in its future in Australia.
“The move into 33 Alfred Street is another sign of the investment we are willing to make to make to ensure the success of the firm and the clients with which we work”, he said. “We have launched new practice teams in Australia over the past three years and enhanced the way we develop our people. This expansion has demanded better facilities for our people to thrive”.
Architecture firm Bates Smart designed the office’s fitout, with Shape constructing. Shape also designed and built Pinsent Masons’ Melbourne office in 2023.
“We are proud of what we have achieved so far in our 10 years in Australia, but we are very much just scratching the surface”, Croagh said.
Last month, Lander & Rogers moved its Sydney office to the same building. Bates Smart also designed Lander & Rogers’ fitout.
