Former AustralianSuper enterprise risk head Nevein Versace has joined Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) as its new chief risk and compliance officer.

Versace stepped into the role today 18 August. She will oversee CSC’s governance, risk management, compliance and legal functions in addition to managing how these functions support the company’s business operations and major projects.

She is the latest addition to an executive committee comprising over 40% women and to a board composed of 75% women.

“I’m pleased to welcome Nevein to our executive committee at a significant time for CSC. With an exciting pipeline of future-focused activity ahead of us to improve customer experience and strengthen our data and systems, Nevein’s technical expertise and leadership skills will play an important role in our success”, CSC CEO Damian Hill said.

Versace has held roles in the corporate and financial services sectors for more than 27 years, particularly in banking and superannuation. She was previously Equity Trustees’ chief risk officer and general manager – compliance at HESTA.

As a lawyer, Versace tackled corporate legal matters. She has also delivered risk management and governance frameworks and developed regulatory change responses.

CSC offers superannuation services and retirement solutions to Australian government employees, specifically Australian public service and Australian Defence Force workers.
