The corporate and commercial law specialist brings in-house experience from stints at Zepto, LUNA
Zed Law has promoted corporate and commercial law specialist Nandan Subramaniam to principal.
Subramaniam initially commenced with the firm as head of commercial in July 2024, per LinkedIn. His practice concentrates on high-growth businesses, founders and investors.
He has tackled matters involving capital raising, M&A, corporate structuring, governance and contracts. His clients have included early-stage startups, venture capital-supported companies and ASX listers in the technology, health and financial services sectors.
Subramaniam has handled high-stakes cross-border transactions as well. Before joining Zed Law, he logged a stint at Ashurst’ he then moved to Malcolm Murray & Associates, where he was senior lawyer.
He took an in-house role as legal counsel at fintech company Zepto before transitioning to professional services firm LUNA to become its vice president, legal. He also founded River Valley Law AU, where he was principal as well.
Subramaniam obtained his bachelor of laws (honours) and his bachelor of economics (distinction) from the University of NSW. Last year, Australasian Lawyer named him one of its Future Legal Leaders.
“Nandan has been integral to what Zed Law has become over the past year. He’s had the rigour of big firm legal training, but he’s also sat inside a high-growth business and felt the pressure of start-up timelines. That combination is rare, and it’s exactly what our clients need. Appointing him as principal is a signal of where we're headed”, Zed Law founder Ryan Zahrai said.
